  • OSRP Observes 23rd National Road Safety Week-2012

    The 23rd Road Safety week (1-7th January,2012) is being Observed by OSRP in PMU and in three project Corridors, with different awareness activities. The Road Safety Week is being observed under the Theme: “Accidents Bring Tears, Safety Brings Cheer”.

  • Chief Secretary takes project review through video conference

    The Chief Secretary chaired a video conference on 19.12.2011 to ease out inter departmental bottlenecks/conflicts found during execution of different projects vis-à-vis their progress. Making encumbrance free land available for the Year-I, Year-II and PPP Roads was discussed and specific deadlines were decided for the participant districts to complete the tasks pending with them. Removal of community and PAP structure, for which the process of LA & R&R has been completed was didcussed in detail and deadlines fixed for their shifting. The Development Commissioner, Engineer-in-Chief-cum-Secretary, Works Department, Chief Engineer, World Bank Projects and Collectors from Kalahandi, Nuapada, Bolangir, Ganjam, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Cuttack and Kendrapara attended the conference.

  • The World AIDS Day-2011 was Organised at PMU and OSRP Year -1 Road Corridors.

    The World AIDS Day-2011 was organized at Project Management Unit (PMU), Orissa State Road Project(OSRP),World Bank Project(WBP) by Nodal NGO CART,PMU and in the three Year-1 project road corridors by INGO KASS-PO-1 (SH-16), VARRSA-PO-2 (SH-9 and SH-53) and KASS-PO-3(SH-17) on dated 1st December 2011. The Theme for World AIDS Day 2011 is “Getting to Zero” as per UNAIDS. After 30 years of the global fight against HIV/AIDS, this year the global community has committed to focusing on achieving 3 targets:

  • Engineer- in- Chief cum Secretary, Works Department reviews Electrical Utility Shifting in OSRP road corridors.

    Sri S.K. Ray Engineer-in-Chief cum Secretary to Government, Works Department took a review meeting on GED activities on 23.11.2011. The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer (Roads), Chief Engineer (Buildings), Superintending Engineer (Electrical R&B), GED-I/II/III/IV, Executive Engineer-II, PMU and other officials. Key dates were fixed for completion of activities including electrical utility shifting in OSRP road corridors (P01/2/3 and year-2, Jagatpur- Chandbali road).

  • Commissioner-cum- Secretary, R&DM reviews LA and R&R in OSRP road corridors.

    Sri R.K. Sharma IAS, Commissioner-cum- Secretary to Government, Revenue and Disaster Management Department took a review meeting on Land acquisition and Resettlement and Rehabilitation in OSRP road corridors on 16.11.11. The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary, Works and Revenue Department, Chief Engineer (World Bank Projects), Joint Commissioner (LA), Executive Engineer-II (PMU), ADMs/LAOs of the respective Districts and other Revenue Department. Targets were fixed to expedite the relocation of PAPs and CPRs (Religious Structures) from P01, P02, P03 in a timebound manner.

  • OSRP website ready for Cyber Security Audit.

    The OSRP website with all dynamic module features is available on NIC Staging server on the URL: http://orissademo3.nic.in/osrp/default.aspx The website is now ready to be audited for Cyber Security before it can be available on osrp.gov.in.

  • World Bank Mission Visited Orissa.

    A World Bank team led by Mr. Rajesh Rohatgi, Senior Transport Specialist, Sustainable Development (South Asia), the World Bank, visited Orissa from 25th to 30th September 2011.The team consisted of the following member from the World Bank. 1. Mr.Ernst Huning (Institutional Specialist) 2. Mr. Krishnan Srinivasan (Consultant, GAAP Specialist) 3. Mr.A.K.Swaminathan (Consultant, Transport Specialist) 4. Mr.Satya Ranjan Mishra (Social Development Specialist) 5. Mr.Sri Kumar Tadimalla (co-TTL and PPP Specialist) 6. Mr.Souta Sundaran (Country Management) 7. Ms Neha Vyas (Environmental Specialist) 8. Mr. Yash Gupta (Procurement Specialist) 9. Ms. Supriti Gupta (Finance Manangement Specialist) The team inspected the three Year-1 road corridor (PO1,PO2,PO3), Jagatpur-Chandabali (Year-2) road and reviewed various activities of the Project with PMU. The World Bank mission met the Chief Secretary on dt:30.09.2011. The wrap-up meeting was taken up by Er. S.K.Ray EIC-Cum-Secretary, Works Department on dt:30.09.2011.

  • Workshop on Orissa Road Asset Management System Conducted

    A Workshop on Orissa Road Assets Management System (ORAMS) jointly organized by Orissa Works Department (OWD) and M/s Lea Associates South Asia Pvt. Ltd (LASA) was held on dt: 23.09.2011. EIC-cum-Secretary (Works Department), Chief Engineer (World Bank Project), Chief Engineer (Roads), Chief Engineer (Building) and Engineers from various R&B Circles and divisions, Water Resource divisions, representatives from Urban Development Department and OCAC attended the Workshop along with other delegates from various departments. At the outset Chief Engineer (World Bank Project) welcomed the gathering and briefed about the purpose of the Workshop. EIC-cum-Secretary to Govt. in Works Department highlighted the necessity of Orissa Road Assets Management System and explained how the implementation of such system is like a dream come true for the state and whose success will be treated as the stepping stone and way forward for implementation of such Assets Management System in other departments. This Interactive Workshop covered various aspects of the ORAMS (Orissa Road Assets Management System) such as Data Requirement, Data Collection Techniques & Formats, AMS System Component, AMS System Architecture & AMS Software etc. The technical presentation was made by M/s Lea Associates South Asia Pvt. Ltd led by Team Leader Mr Anand Prakash, Mr. Sagar Deshmukh, Mr. P.S.Tyagi, Mr. Satyakant Sahu and the vote of thanks by Mr. G.P.Sahu.
