workshop on Strategy Formulation and Implementation of IT-ICT- MIS Architecture facilities & Capacity Building on for Odisha Works Department held on 17.04.2012 in the 2nd Floor conference hall of office of the Engineer-in-Chief (Civil),Nirman Saudha,Odisha. Engineer-in-Chief-cum- Secretary, Works Department, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, RD Department, Engineer-in-Chief (Civil), Odisha, Chief Engineer (National Highway), Chief Engineer (RD & QP), Chief Engineer(OBCC), Chief Engineer (WBP), representatives from Finance Department, Works Department, Road Asset Management consultant & Road Sector Institutional development consultant and PMU officials attended the workshop. The workshop focused on the scope of services, vision, approach & methodology to be adopted by the IT-ICT-MIS consultant vis-a-vis the requirement of the PMU/OWD for successful implementation of e-governance in the state.

Engineer in Chief- cum- Secretary meets the ISAP Consultant.
The ISAP consultant M/s ICT Pvt. Ltd. In Joint Venture with (GT-APL) in association with Arkitechno Consultrant (India) Pvt. Ltd. met the Engineer in Chief- cum- Secretary, Works Department on 20.04.2012 and briefed the broad outline, scope of service and methodology to carry out the assignments in co-ordination with various departments of OWD. The team consisted of :- 1. Dr. C.P.Bohra, Dy Team Leader 2. Mr. Amitav Basu, Financial Analyst & Business Planning Specialist 3. Dr. P.K.Nanda, Sr. Highway Engineer 4. Col. S.P.Tomar, Project Co-ordinator 5. Mr. Tony Mathew, Traffic & Transportable Engineer 6. Mr. Dipak Rao, Legal Specialist 7. Mr. Rajesh Roy Chowdhary, MD,Architechno, Consultants Er. Nalini Kanta Pradhan, CE (World Bank Project), Er.Rasmi Ranjan Bohidar (I/C)SE ISAP, Er. Bijoy Chandra Tripathy EE-II, Er.Manoranjan Mishra,EE participated in the above discussion. EIC-cum-Secretary advised the team to work out and recommend realistic and adoptable options. He advised PMU and Consultant to prepare a presentation before the high level committee to be chaired by Chief Secretary, Govt. of Odisha. at this initial stage.

Public Consultation held in Berhampur-Taptapani Road Corridor (P03) of OSRP.
The review meeting on Land Acquisition and Resettlement and Rehabilitation issue was held for P03 (Berhampur-Taptapani Road Corridor of OSRP) site at Digapahandi on 22.02.12. Sri Satya Misra, SDS, World Bank and PMU staffs organized the meeting which was attended by the local public.

Social Expert engaged for updating RAP of Jagatpur-Chandbali Road.
Sri. Kirti Bas, Social Planner has been engaged as the Social Expert for updating Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) of Jagatpur-Chandbali Road. The period of engagement of the social expert is four months. Sri. Bas shall guide 4 teams constituted for undertaking the exercise and facilitate approval of the updated Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) by World Bank and RPDAC. The respective Executive Engineer (R&B) division shall lead each team.

OSRP Phase-1 road Works and Supervision – Employer’s representatives designated.
Consequent upon the commencement of Services of the CSC an officer order has been issued vide this office letter no PMU-WB/60/2011/118 dt.01.05.2012 designating M/s MSV International, Inc. USA in Joint venture with UPHAM International Corporation as Employer’s representatives for works and CSC contracts.

Sri Manoranjan Mohapatra, Accounts Officer-I, 5. Sri Pravat Kumar Mahali, Assistant Engineer(Civil), 6. Sri Sameer Hota, Assistant Engineer(Civil), 7. Sri Rankankdhi Jena, Establishment Officer-II.

Second meeting of ISAP Working Group held.
The second meeting of ISAP Working was held in the second Floor Conference hall of Nirman Saudha on 26.6.12. Er. Sukadev Meher , EIC (Civil) chaired the meeting. The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer (WBP), Chief Engineer (Building), Chief Engineer (DPI & Roads), Chief Engineer (NH), Chief Engineer (RDQP), Representatives from Transport Commerce Department. SE i/c ISAP , EEs and AEs of PMU and the RSID Consultants, IT & ICT Consultants and Asset Management consultants . At the outset Chief Engineer (WBP) explained the aims and objectives of ISAP, terms of reference of the Working Group and the proceedings of the first meeting of ISAP WG held on 15.05.2010. He outlined the objectives and scope of 3 consultants. The three consultants made presentations on their scope of work and the status of progress. The presentations were followed by interactive sessions and overviews by Chief Engineer (WBP) and EIC (Civil).

RTI training held in SIRD, Bhubaneswar.
A two-day training programme was organized jointly by I & PR Department and P.R .Department in State Institute of Rural Development Department on dt:22.06.2012 and dt:23.06.2012. Sri B.C.Tripathy PIO (WBP) and Sri S.S. Swain AE (PMU) attended the programme.

Training on online Complaint Handling System(CHS).
A Training on online Complaint Handling System will be conducted on 20th July 2012 (Friday) at 11 AM in the 2nd floor Conference Hall of O/o the Engineer in-Chief (Civil),Odisha, Nirman Soudha, by Ms Luminous Infoways Pvt. Ltd after the formal lunching the system.

World Bank Mission visits Odisha.
The World Bank Mission will visit Odisha to review the progress of OSRP in the last week of July 2012. The Bank Team shall be led by Mr. Rajesh Rahotgi. Mr Ernst Hunning, Institutional Strengthening Specialist shall review and facilitate the progress made in Asset Management, Information Technology- Information Communication Strategy (IT-ICT) and Institutional Strengthening Action Plan- related RSID consultancy.
