LOAs issued for Construction of Anadpur-Bhadrak-Chandbali Road & Jagatpur-Chandbali Road (P04A and P04B)
Letter of acceptance were issued to (a) M/s Corsan Corviam Construccion S.A, Spain, (b) M/s Valecha Engineering Ltd., (c) M/s DPJ-NKC (JV) respectively for the following: (1) Construction for Widening & Strengthening of existing carriageway to 2-lane respectively for Chandbali-Bhadrak-Anadpur Road (Km. 0/000 to Km. 45/000 of SH – 9 & Km 0/000 to Km. 43/000 of SH-53) [Balance Work] (2) Widening & Strengthening of existing carriageway to 2-lane road from Jagatpur to Duhuria (Km. 0/0 to Km. 49/0 of MDR) and (3)Widening & Strengthening of existing carriageway to 2-lane Road from Duhuria to Chandbali (Km. 49/000 to Km. 99/000 of MDR & Km 45/000 to Km. 51/500 of SH-9).

New Chief Engineer for World Bank Projects (OSRP):
Er Bharat Chandra Pradhan, Chief Engineer, NH,Odisha has joined as Chief Engineer (World Bank Projects) with effect from 05.08.2013 vide Works Department Order No. 8521 dt 5.8.13.

Training Programme for Odisha Works Department Engineers on Asset Management
Bentley Systems India Pvt. Ltd., Supplier of “EXOR” (the Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) software for Odisha Road Asset Management System) in association with LEA Associates, the Asset Management Consultant to the Odisha Works Department (OWD) scheduled to organize a hands on training programme on “Configuration and calibration of in-built planning tools of EXOR on Asset management” from 06th August 2013 to 14th August 2013. Portfolio review by DEA (GOI) held
The portfolio review of World Bank projects was held at Bhubaneswar by Department of External Affairs (Government of India) on 25.7.13. This was attended by Task Team Leaders and other members of the World Bank, Engineer-in-Chief cum Secretary to Government in Works Department, Chief Engineer World Bank Projects (Odisha State Roads Project) and other Project Directors and State Representatives.

New Secretary for Works Department
On being promoted to the rank of Engineer – in- Chief (Civil), Er Nalini Kanta Pradhan was appointed as Engineer-in-Chief-cum-Secretary to Government, Works Department vide Government Notification no.07361402032012/8384/W dt. 02.08.2013). Er. Pradhan joined in his new assignment on 02.08.2013.

SDS, World Bank visits P03 and P04A,P04B
Mr Satya Mishra Social Development Specialist , World Bank visited Jagatpur – Chandabali road(P04A,B) on 26.7.13 and Berhampur – Taptapani (P03) road on 28.07.2013 He interacted with the PAPs and reviewed the progress in R&R activities made by the project since the last mission in April 13. He expressed satisfaction over the Project Authority’s response in Digapahandi (P03) and Jagatpur – Chandabali road (P04A & P04B).

Duty distribution among Superintending Engineers in World Bank Project.
In order to streamline project management in PMU (World Bank Project) , duty distribution among the two SEs in WBP have been effected vide Chief Engineer (World Bank) Office Order No. 257 dtd. 02.08.2013.

RPDAC for Jagatpur-Chandbali Road (P04A, P04B) Costituted.
Government of Odisha have constituted the Rehabilitation and Periphery Development Advisory Committee (RPDAC) for Jagatpur-Chandbali Road Project covering Cuttack, Kedrapara and Bhadrak district under World Bank assistance scheme (OSRP) vide RDM-RPC-COMM-0010- 29133 dtd. The RDC, CD is the Chairman and Collector and District Magistrate, Kendrapara is the Member-Convenor. The Committee has 54 members.

PMUs engineers attended Workshop on Road Safety Engineering organised by World Bank.
The World Bank organized second Workshop in Road safety under GRSF and Bloomsberg Philahthropies for RSIO at Bangalore from 4-7 June13 .The workshop had presentation among others by international experts in Road Safety. Mr Jim Jaruis, Mr Philip Jordan,Mr Greg Smith, Prof Geetam Tiwari (IIT, NewDelhi) and overseen by Mr Dipen Bose(GRSF) and Mr Arnab Bandopadhya of World Bank. Representatives from different State Road Projects including Odisha attended the Workshop. The main topic covered were i – Rap, Road Safety Audit, Black spot Investigation, Economics of road safety etc.

Tripartite Review Meeting of World Bank assisted Problem Projects.
A tripartite portfolio review meeting of world Bank Assisted problem projects was conducted by Joint Secretary(MI) on June7,2013 t New Delhi. Chief Engineer World Bank Projects, Odisha, Works Department, Government of Odisha attended the above meeting.
