OSRP Phase-1 road Works and Supervision – Employer’s representatives designated.

Consequent upon the commencement of Services of the CSC an officer order has been issued vide this office letter no PMU-WB/60/2011/118 dt.01.05.2012 designating M/s MSV International, Inc. USA in Joint venture with UPHAM International Corporation as Employer’s representatives for works and CSC contracts.

The World Bank Mission’s Visit 23-27 April 2012

A World Bank interim mission team led by Mr. Rajesh Rohatgi, Senior Transport Specialist, Sustainable Development (South Asia), the World Bank, visited Odisha from 23-27 April 2012.The World Bank team consisted of the following members: 1.Mr.Ernst Huning (Institutional Specialist) 2.Mr. Krishnan Srinivasan (Consultant, GAAP Specialist) 3.Mr.Satya Ranjan Mishra (Social Development Specialist) 4.Mr.Sri Kumar Tadimalla (Co-TTL and PPP Specialist) 5.Ms Neha Vyas (Environmental Specialist) 6.Mr. Amrit Inder Singh (Consultant, World Bank) Read More.. The team inspected the two road corridors of Phase-1i.e P-01 and P-02 on 24.04.2012. The SDS of World Bank also visited P03 and attended a public consultation on R&R at Digapahandi on 22.04.2012. He also has visited Jagatpur- Chandbali Road (P04) along with Mr Kirti Bas, Social Expert, PMU in connection with updating RAP of P04 on 28.04.2012. The World bank Mission met and discussed with PMU Staff led by Chief Engineer,(World Bank Project)on 23.04.2012 and 26.04.2012 and with M/s Intercontinental Consultants and Technocrats Pvt. Ltd(ICT), New Delhi in Joint Venture with Grant Thornton Advisory Pvt. Ltd(GT-APL),New Delhi and in association with Arkitechno Consultants (India) Pvt. Ltd.as Sub-consultants, RSID consultant team, M/s Cybertech Software & Multimedia Pvt . Ltd., IT-ICT consultant team and M/s LEA Associates South Asia Pvt. Ltd., India in Joint Venture with LEA International Ltd., Canada and in association with Geo Infospace Pvt. Ltd, India as Sub-Consultants, Asset Management Consultant team on 26.04.2012. The Mission also discussed with Mr. Puskar Mallick Project Head the CSC (MSV) regarding optimum staff mobilization in the current scenario. The mission met Engineer-in- Chief-cum- Secretary on 26.04.2012 in which the current status/progress in different components were discussed.

Engineer in Chief- cum- Secretary meets the ISAP Consultant.

The ISAP consultant M/s ICT Pvt. Ltd. In Joint Venture with (GT-APL) in association with Arkitechno Consultrant (India) Pvt. Ltd. met the Engineer in Chief- cum- Secretary, Works Department on 20.04.2012 and briefed the broad outline, scope of service and methodology to carry out the assignments in co-ordination with various departments of OWD. EIC-cum-Secretary advised the team to work out and recommend realistic and adoptable options. He advised PMU and Consultant to prepare a presentation before the high level committee to be chaired by Chief Secretary, Govt. of Odisha. at this initial stage.

World Bank Support Mission to visit OSRP

A World Bank Interring Support Mission is scheduled to visit Odisha from 23rd April 2012 to 26th April 2012 for reviewing the progress of the Odisha State Roads Project.

Social Expert engaged for updating RAP of Jagatpur-Chandbali Road.

Sri. Kirti Bas, Social Planner has been engaged as the Social Expert for updating Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) of Jagatpur-Chandbali Road. The period of engagement of the social expert is four months. Sri. Bas shall guide 4 teams constituted for undertaking the exercise and facilitate approval of the updated Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) by World Bank and RPDAC. The respective Executive Engineer (R&B) division shall lead each team.

workshop on Strategy Formulation and Implementation of IT-ICT- MIS Architecture facilities & Capacity Building on for Odisha Works Department held on 17.04.2012 in the 2nd Floor conference hall of office of the Engineer-in-Chief (Civil),Nirman Saudha,Odisha. Engineer-in-Chief-cum- Secretary, Works Department, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, RD Department, Engineer-in-Chief (Civil), Odisha, Chief Engineer (National Highway), Chief Engineer (RD & QP), Chief Engineer(OBCC), Chief Engineer (WBP), representatives from Finance Department, Works Department, Road Asset Management consultant & Road Sector Institutional development consultant and PMU officials attended the workshop. The workshop focused on the scope of services, vision, approach & methodology to be adopted by the IT-ICT-MIS consultant vis-a-vis the requirement of the PMU/OWD for successful implementation of e-governance in the state.

Training and Workshop on RTI conducted.

An in-house sensitization workshop on Right to Information Act, 2005 was held inside PMU premises in the conference hall of Office of the EIC (Civil), Nirmana Soudha, Bhubaneswar on 16.04.2012 . Chief Engineer (WBP) chaired the workshop. SE (P&D)-cum-First Appellate Authority (Civil), PIOs and APIOs of O/o the EIC (Civil), Executive Engineers, Assist. Engineers, Junior Engineers, Dy. Commissioner (LA), Special LAO and the supporting staff (DEOs),PMU participated in the workshop. Resource persons from M/s Luminous Infoways Pvt. Ltd., RTI-Centric website consultant to OSRP imparted the training. The objective of the workshop was to sensitize the engineers & other officials of O/o the EIC (Civil) regarding the provisions of the RTI Act, 2005 and to sensitize the participants regarding the recently developed tools available in RTI website (i.e. rtiodisha.gov.in) for effective handling of RTI application & subsequent reporting.

Government terminates the contract of NGO, KASS for Bhawanipatna-Khariar Road P01

Government in Works Department have terminated the contract bearing No. 12 of 2009-10 of the NGO, Krushi Adivashi Self help Society (KASS), Permanent Address- At/Po-Batira, Rahama, Dist-Kendrapara, Address for communication- Plot No- 1916/1376, Brahmeswar Patna, BBSR-18, after establishment of fraudulent practice performed by KASS in competing for and implementation of the contract as Implementing NGO in Bhwanipatna-Khariar Road (P01) under Odisha State Roads Project(OSRP).

PMU engineer receives gold medal for academic excellence.

Er.Manoranjan Mishra was awarded the “Faculty Council Gold Medal” for academic excellence in Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) on the 21st convocation Day of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar held on date 27 March 2012. Er. Mishra was pursuing the above higher education in XIMB since 2008 till 2011.
